New Drywall Installation
Additions, remodels, garage conversions, and framed-out rooms, hung, taped, mudded, and finished ready for paint.
New installation is a different job than patching an existing wall. It comes up on room additions, garage-to-living-space conversions, basement and attic buildouts, walls removed and rebuilt during a remodel, and any room that's been framed out but not yet closed in. If the studs are exposed, this is the service you need.
When new drywall goes up next to existing walls, like a room addition tied into the original house, the texture and finish need to match what's already there so the addition doesn't look like a visibly different space. We treat that transition the same way we treat a repair: matching the existing texture rather than defaulting to a generic finish. See our texture matching page for more on how that works.
Most rooms are finished to a standard level suitable for flat paint. Rooms with critical lighting, high-gloss paint, or a very smooth design intent may call for a higher level of finish. Take a look at our level five finishing page if you're planning a room where an ultra-smooth wall matters.
New installation is priced by square footage, with factors like ceiling height, the number of corners and openings, and the finish level affecting the total. As a general guide, most straightforward rooms run in the $2 to $4 per square foot range for materials and labor combined, with a free on-site or plan-based estimate giving you an exact number for your project.
Whether it's one room or a full addition, we work throughout Clearwater, Tampa, and the rest of the Tampa Bay area. If you're finishing a garage conversion, our trim and baseboards service can complete the room once the walls are painted.
